Kelly + Neville - 21 October 2007
26 . October . 07
Kelly and Neville had a beautiful ceremony at the Wildflower Pavilion in Kings Park. After the ceremony we headed off to the Pine Forest in Kings Park and then down to the Old Swan Brewery for photos, before we all (the wedding party and guests) jumped on a boat at the Bell Tower and headed up the Swan River to arrive at Waters Edge Winery in South Guildford. I must say it was a great way of getting your guests to the reception - and a great way of relaxing with with everyone before the reception kicks off!
I love this shot.. I saw the dress hanging in the window as we arrived and got this shot.. I love that the clouds reflect in the windows

Kelly’s beautiful dress and shoes!

Kelly was a very stress free bride.. everything went according to plan - well besides the house having barely any electricity for most the morning! They had to run a cable through the house for the girls to do their hair.. and Kelly was smiling at the end of it all! =)

The very handsome groom!

Kelly arriving in Kings Park.. I love how both Kelly and her dad look so excited..

A very proud dad.. and a very happy groom! (and the beauty of having two photographers.. can get two very different perspectives!)

The ceremony was very heartfelt and beautiful

I am so inlove with The Pines in Kings Park - there is something so magical and nostaglic about this place..

Always love a bit of sunflare ;)

One of my favourites for the day!!

We spent an hour and a half cruising up the Swan River and no I dont have magical wings.. my lovely assistant took the photo of Kelly and Nev on the boat and then drove around to the winery, whereas I stayed on the boat to capture the guests. The shot on the right is Kelly’s grandmother, sister and niece… a beautiful moment ;)

I was so excited to be able to capture Kelly and Nev’s ‘first dance’.. before the guests were welcomed into the room, Kelly and Nev did one last practice of their dance!

Thanks Kelly and Nev for allowing me to photograph your beautiful day! It was a absolute pleasure ;)
Lisa + Luc - Enagement Session - 19 October 2007
24 . October . 07
I meet up with Lisa and Luc early Friday morning at Hillary’s Boat Harbour for their engagement session. Instead of pouring rain like my last e session with Kate and Colin, it was so so sunny! I was excited waking up Friday morning, to see it looked extremely overcast out (clouds make me happy, beautiful light = beautiful photos), however on my drive up to Hillary’s I could see the sun was coming out and by 9am came round, it ended up being a extremely sunny morning - though it worked out for the best as the spots we shot out had beautiful light, Lisa and Luc’s skin has a nice glow to it =) Lisa and Luc are getting married on the 16th November out at Caversham House - I can’t wait to photograph their wedding! ;)

Kate + Colin - Engagement Session - 7th October 2007
24 . October . 07
Kate and Colin are getting married on the 3rd November - now less than two weeks away!! A few Sundays ago we meet up to do their engagement session and discuss the finer details of their wedding day. We met up at my studio down in Fremantle and then wandered around the West End of Fremantle in search of cool spots. Just as we headed out of my studio, it started pouring with rain, so we had to ran from one undercover area to the next, so we were a little restricted in what we could do but sometimes things like rain can be a blessing in disguise.

Can’t wait for your wedding Kate and Colin!! See you next weekend ;)
Danni and Matt - 6 October 2007
23 . October . 07
Danni and Matt were married on the 6th October down in Mandurah. You may remember Danni and Matt from their pre wedding portrait session a few months back with their kids. The 6th October turned out to be a beautiful day and the couple wed at small park in Meadow Springs. After the ceremony we headed down to the Heritage Park (The old dairy farm) in Halls Head. This was a great spot, I really enjoyed photographing here! It was great to photograph in unexplored territory! We then headed up to Yindana Lake for a few more photos before heading back down to the centre of Mandurah for their reception at the Stagedoor Bar and Brasserie. Now on with the photos! ;)
The beautiful flowers..

Danni’s beautiful shoes and I love this photo showing of all the different layers of her dress!

I love this shot of Danni’s shoes!

Danni and Matt have two children, Chloe who is seven and Xander who I believe is about 8 months old. Xander was the ‘page-boy’ and this shot is of his gorgeous little outfit. Then there is a very happy and slightly nervous groom showing off his corsage.

The ceremony was full of lots of laughter ;)

The rings..

These are my favourite two shots of the day.. There is something very nostalgic about them.

These old farm buildings are awesome and were great backdrops for the photos (and provided shade from the harsh sun!)

Matt and his merry men..

I love Danni’s expression in this shot, cant remember what caused such a great reaction though!

Beautiful light:

These were taken down on the Broadwalk in Mandurah just before we headed into the reception, it was getting so dark (not that it looks it), thanks to my beautiful 50mm 1.4 lens we managed to get so last few shots.

I believe wedding photos do not always have to have people smiling in them (as you may have noticed in previous blog entries..), I love photos where the bride and groom have a more intense look on their face.. it can give the shot more emotion and it makes you wonder what they are thinking :)

Last photo can be a silly one, I am not normally a fan of ’silly’ photos but for some reason I like this one..

The tables were beautifully decorated at the Stagedoor Bar.

Thanks Danni and Matt for allowing me to be part of your wedding day - I had a great time photographing it - hope you had a awesome time on your honeymoon! And a big thank you to Sarah who second shot for me on the day! xox

Reshma and Ben - Engagement Shoot
15 . October . 07
Yesterday I spent the afternoon with Reshma and Ben shooting their pre wedding portrait / engagement shoot. They are getting married on the 7th November, which is a Wednesday! I have been looking forward to these guys wedding since they booked me earlier in the year, they have so many great things planned for their wedding day. They gave me one of their wedding ‘invitations’ yesterday, and it is the coolest wedding invite I have ever seen - its a DVD movie! We decided to start the portrait shoot off at the Must Wine Bar in Highgate, which is where they are having their wedding reception. Must Wine Bar is a very swanky place, we headed up to the Champagne Lounge which just ooozes with class and style! =) As Reshma and Ben only live around the corner, we headed back to their place to continue on with the photo shoot. I have never done a engagement shoot at anyones house before, it was great and the best bit was that they got to incorporate some meaningful things into their photos.

I had a lot of fun yesterday Reshma and Ben - I cant wait for your wedding! =)
Email Issues
12 . October . 07
It appears that lately I have been having some email issues and that some email people are trying to send me has flown through cyber space and has been sucked into one of those big black holes of nothingness and is never to be seen again… If any of you have tried emailing me in the past few months and I have not replied to your email, please do not think of me as rude in not replying, I just have not recieved it :( So if you have emailed me and Ive not replied, can you pretty please send it through again?
The problem should be fixed now, well I wont really know for sure until somebody tells me I have not replied to their email… hopefully it is all sorted otherwise I will have to move hosting providers which means my website and email will have to be down for a few days.. ekk!
So this post is not completely boring…… here is a photo I took at the Perth Royal Show last week.. I have a lot more photos I took there, I am slowing getting through editing them, they will be up soon!
Have a great weekend everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sharee and Mick - 5th October 2007
10 . October . 07
Sharee and Mick were married last Friday at the beautiful St Joesph’s Catholic Church in Subiaco. The day was absoutely amazing and Sharee and Mick were a complete joy to photograph, both full of big smiles and emotion! I knew this wedding was going to be awesome to photograph when I heard Sharee was wearing a Donna Tobin dress and her bridesmaids wearing Vera Wang dresses!
Sharee was a very happy and stress free bride, she has a gorgeous smile and she didnt stop smiling all day!

detail shots of her lovely perfume and shoes.
.
Arriving at St Joesph’s Church.. it was an extremly sunny day!

St Joesph’s would have to be one of the most beautiful churches in Perth. I have quite a few weddings here over the next wedding season - I cant wait for them all, this church has beautiful light!

Mick could not stop looking at his bride throughout the entire ceremony.

I love this moment between Sharee and Mick’s mothers, totally beautiful moment.

I love getting theses shots though hardly anyone has confetti / rice / petal throwing at weddings anymore.. I think it should come back into fashion! (hint to future brides :)

One of my favourite times of the day when photographing a wedding is the ‘hugs and kisses’ time, everybody forgets there is a camera around and I always get such great shots with lots of emotion.

These two girls were total sweethearts, how cute are they? They are Sharee’s nieces, I hope one day I get to do a portrait session with these girls, they are very photogenic and they loved having their photo taken! :)

We originally were going to head to City Beach for the location shoot but the day was just WAY to sunny so we decided to head over to University of Western Australia instead as the light is always beautiful there, even on the sunniest of days.
Mick and his groomsmen were great to photograph, lots of laughter and silly jokes!

And the girls were equally as fun to photograph!

I LOVED the flowers!

We took a visit to one of my favourite walls at UWA..

This is my favourite shot of the day, beautiful couple and beautiful light!

After we finished up at UWA we jumped in our cars and headed off to Kings Park for a few extra shots, we headed to the Pines in Kings Park - I love this place! For future clients having their wedding or photos in Kings Park - I definitely recommend going to this part of Kings Park, its a really great spot!

The reception was at Frasers / Kings Park Function Centre - beautiful spot! Touched by Angles did the decorations - they did a awesome job, the place looked amazing!

Finally the cake, made by Chocolate Art - Yum!! Love the letters on top!

Thank you to Sharee and Mick for allowing me to be part of your day - it was a beautiful day and I am so glad I was able to photograph it =) Hope you have a fantastic time on your honeymoon!
The National Hotel
2 . October . 07
The National Hotel is on the corner of Market and High Street in Fremantle was badly damaged by fire in March this year. For the past 7 months I have been walking past this building almost everyday and no progress has been made yet .. hopefully something will happen soon. I just hope they keep the boxing kangroo on the side of the building!! I am off the the Royal Show tomorrow so lots of fun photos coming in the next few days! xox

my studio on pakenham street, fremantle
2 . October . 07

This morning I went out and bought myself a new present… the Canon 5D! I have been wanting to get this camera for a while and finally decided that today was the day! The above photo is one of the first shots I took on my new baby, which is of my studio on Pakenham Street in Fremantle, which is in the funky + trendy ‘West End’ area of Fremantle. My office is opposite Antipodium, a fashion designer’s studio, and there are a lot of art galleries around the corner on High Street - it is great to be in such a creative part of town =) I have been in this space since April and absolutely love it down here… and could I have found a better building? it is totally awesome and is always a pleasure hanging out here everyday! ;) After lunch I am going to take a walk around Fremantle to test out my new love a little more, so some other photos will be up later in the day!
Also some big changes are happening around here… it is all very exciting… it involves two new websites! yippie! Stay tuned ;)
