Kristy + Lucy + Ellie

21 . November . 07

Yesterday I had the great pleasure in hanging out with Kristy and her two little friends Lucy and Ellie. I have been looking forward to this portrait session since Kristy booked me a few weeks ago. We met up at Kristy’s house first so we could take some photos of Lucy and Ellie on my white seemless background:

First up… Lucy! I love her big beautiful ears!

kristy_004.jpg

Little Ellie, who is about a year old.
kristy_003.jpg

Kristy had seen the fashion shoot I did with Renee at the Pines at Kings Park and decided she wanted to do the portrait session of her dog Lucy there, so we headed off to Kings Park after finishing up on the white seemless:

This shot makes my heart melt. Dogs are so beautiful..

kristy_002.jpg

Kristy and Lucy have been best friends for 10 years =)

kristy_001.jpg

Kristy had a special request… her birthday was the following day (today!!), she wanted me to take a photograph of her to celebrate her birthday! She had seen the photograph I had taken of Renee and asked if we could do something similar… of course I agreed!!! =)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KRISTY! I hope you had a beautiful day =) xox

Office Update

17 . November . 07

The scaffolding is up, painting is about to begin, the new furniture has arrived and I have a new A2 printer coming in next week. Hopefully by this time next week everything will be completed and I will all setup in the new office!!

My new 2 metre x 2 metre bookself, this is going to act as a room divider. You can also see in the far background the atrium which is looking rather shabby at the moment. I will have to do some gardening over the next week!

office002.jpg

This place has amazing natural day light, these photos were taken at 6:45pm - I love how half the roof is made of glass, so much pretty light coming in.

office003.jpg

My new desks - instead of buying boring old office desks, I bought 2x 2 metre long desks. 4 metres of desk space, I cant wait to spread all my stuff out!

office001.jpg
Well I will post another update when everything is finished! Have a great weekend everyone!

On Tuesday I meet up with Cher and David at Cottesloe Beach for their engagement shoot. I think it was a great location for them to choose to do their engagement shoot as David proposed to Cher here so this place holds a special place in their hearts =) We meet up late afternoon at 6pm as I knew the light would extra nice, and I could have some fun with sun flare, as you can tell I am a big fan of playing around with the light lately =) Cher and David are getting married on the 9th February next year at one of my favourite locations, the Blue Water Grill in Applecross - I cant wait for their wedding as these two are very friendly and beautiful people - I know their day will be a joy to photograph.

My absolute favourite photo of the day. It also makes it to make my all-time-ever favourite shots =)

cherdavid006.jpg

Since I love this photo so much, it makes it an appearance twice in this post =)

As I arrived at my office this afternoon I was greeted with a new copy of the West Australian Wedding Guide Mag in which I have a advertisement in this year. This is the first time I have had an advertisement in a magazine, very exciting!

Today I finally finished purchasing the rest of my new office furniture, tomorrow’s task is to organize a courier to pick up and deliver my new purchases; one white leather couch, one huge 2m x2m bookcase, two dining tables (desks) and one very cool and large 1.2m x 1.2m coffee table. The walls are being painted tomorrow, so hopefully the new office/studio will be ready next week!

I had been looking forward to Reshma and Ben’s wedding when they booked me earlier on in the year. They had so many exciting things planned for their wedding and it was great to finally see all the great things they have telling me about. Reshma’s family flew in from Trinidad for the wedding, and many other family and friends flew in from around the world and country. It was indeed a special day for Reshma and Ben as they got to spend it with so many friends and family they do not get to see too often. It was a amazing day and was glad I was able to capture so many special moments =)

Ben bought these beautiful earrings as a wedding present for Reshma.

Reshma’s beautiful dress she bought on a trip to Melbourne. It suited her perfectly.rbd001.jpg

These two beautiful girls were helping out Reshma get ready in the morning, both flying in from Trinidad for the big day!

The flowers were absolutely amazingly beautiful.. This blog post has lots of flower shots as I went a little crazy photographing them but they were just so pretty!

Like I said above, pretty pretty flowers!

The ceremony took place in Hyde Park under the Jacaranda trees. The weather was absolutely perfect. They could not of asked for a better day.
rbd008.jpg

Reshma and Ben made a magazine for their wedding guests, this is one of the coolest ideas I have ever seen at a wedding. They did a little intro about every guest at the wedding, along with stories of how they met. The photos I took for their pre wedding portrait made it in as well, as well as the front cover! =) The guests had a great time before the ceremony looking through the book and reading the blurbs about them.

The ceremony was beautiful, full of lots of emotion and laughter.

The reception was at the Must Wine Bar in Highgate, which is a awesome venue.  Reshma and Ben had large prints made and replaced them with the ones already hanging up there, it was a great way to decorate the place =)

Love the flower centre pieces and those cupcakes smelt so good!

Last Sunday I photographed the Verdow Family, I am getting to know these guys pretty well, last year I photographed Laura and Brad’s wedding and in about 3 weeks time I am photographing Amy and Craig’s wedding! Laura organized a gift voucher for Brad’s mum for mothers day… 6 months on and it was time to cash it in so we meet up at Maritime Musuem in Fremantle…

Kate and Colin had a beautiful and intimate ceremony in Kate’s mothers backyard last Saturday morning. They had many unique touches to their wedding that made the day very special.

Love Colin’s pocket watch and beautiful corsage.

I love brides who go the less traditional route of wedding shoes and wear something very funky… Kate wore these with purple leggins underneath.. way too cool! =)

more hot stuff. renee blake

6 . November . 07

This is the rest of the series I have been working on for my sisters fashion range. Pine forests are definitely the flavor of the month! I had so much fun shooting this with Renee, I love when I get completely creative control and just get to do anything I want - for the first shot I had Renee laying on the ground in the pine forest which she protested to at first, but as soon as she saw the first few shots I took she was amazed and than did anything I asked for the rest of the shoot! The light in the pine forest is so beautiful, and so many different ways to embrace this light. Renee and the rest of her class over at West Australian Institute of Fashion and Textiles is having their catwalk show on the 20th November - and they have hired me to photograph the catwalk show and the rest of the evening - I cant wait for the show, it is going to be a great night! I have also designed a newspaper/magazine for them to hand out on the night, it was all finished up yesterday and today is at the printers, so as soon as I get a copy I will post it up here, it looks pretty cool! =)

Angus and Julia Stone Concert

1 . November . 07

Last Thursday night I went to the Angus and Julia Stone with my little sis Renee and her friends Antosh and Shani. I have been listening to Angus and Julia Stone all year, ever seen they first started been played on Triple J. They are now one of my favourite bands and it was great to see them live. The concert was absolutely amazing, I really enjoy going to small intimate venues (though The Capitol had way to many people squished in there, but the last concert I went to was the Scissor Sisters concert at Wembley Stadium in London, so that was a huge difference ;) I must say I like the small venues way better! At the beginning of the night I also bumped into my two friends Sarah and Bree, which was a very pleasant surprise as I had no idea they were going! Well it was a awesome night and I think everyone who went floated out of the venue on a little cloud.. it was a magical night seeing them perform! xox

My little sister, Renee and me..

reneesammangusjuliaconcert.jpg

I did not bother taking my camera with me (its way to heavy to carry around..though I wish I did now) so we only had Renee’s silly little point and shoot to take some photos..
