sammblake_003.jpg

Last week I had to take some photos of my office for an magazine my business is being featured in.. I was in a bit of a rush when I took these as I was about to miss the deadline.. I have been being meaning to post some photos of my new office for a long time now.. so here you go!

sammblake_002.jpg

My work desk where I spend the majority of my days editing all the cool weddings, portraiture and other work I shoot. My new Mac’s arrived yesterday so the layout of my desks are a little different now.. there are now four computers in here and things are a little crowded!

My client meeting area! Im about to get a rear projection screen thingy in soon too which will project onto the wall on the left hand side under the stair case. That flower sculpture is now gone, thinking about putting a bookself there to house my display albums!

These were the before photos during the painting stage… the big wall got painted a coffee / grey colour.

Helen and Fraser

7 . February . 08

Helen and Fraser were married in December at the Sacred Heart Parish in Highgate, stopping past Hyde Park for photos and onto the Boatshed Restaurant in South Perth. It was a fantastic day with lots of beautiful moments captured! =)

On with the photos…

This little guy didnt look very impressed having to wait for all the girls to get their makeup on =)

Since Helen and Fraser met while living in London, they felt it was highly appropriate to have London Cabs for the day. Arlene shot this out of the window while we were driving the Boatshed in South Perth.

A little bit into the reception, we ducked out and headed down to the Coode Street Jetty for a few quick last shots:

I am taking my camera along tomorrow so expect some funny photos early next week! I am really looking forward to seeing Augie March, Midnight Juggernauts, Josh Pyke and Bjork!

Here are some random photos from past Big Day Outs here in Perth:

Goodbye Windows, Hello Apple!

2 . February . 08

I grew up using Macintosh computers thanks to my Dad who has always been a bit of a gadgets man, then about eleven years ago when I first started getting into photography and getting the internet connected (wow its been 11 years!), I somehow ended using Windows computers and after constant 11 years of use and studying some computer units at university I would say I am a very computer savy person, verging on the geeky side of things (im sure my friends would suggest full computer geek haha).

Since becoming a professional photographer my pc’s have been struggling to keep up with me and my never ending workload, I always knew I would have to move over eventually as Macs are far more superior for graphic professionals, but I have been hesitant in moving over as there will be a lot of new software I will need to buy and having to adjust to a whole new way of working, but I am now proud to say the day has finally come… yesterday I placed an order for new mac gear! =)

The following will be arriving in about 10 sleeps:

A Mac Pro with 8gb of Ram and 2TB of memory

A Eizo 24″ ColourEdge Colour Calibrated Monitor:

And finally a 13″ MacBook Laptop with 4GB RAM
