ABOUT SAMM BLAKE
I am a freelance photographer currently based in Perth, Western Australia.
I am a active member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA, and a emerging member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography.
I have a Bachelor of Communciations with a double major in Photomedia and Journalism. Being both qualified as a photographer and journalist, I believe this is what makes my wedding photography unique, as I’ve spent many years learning the principals of taking beautiful photographs and learning the importance of storytelling.
Aside from my wedding photography, I have a big passion for documentary and fine art photography. I have had exhibitions across Australia and my work has appeared in international publications including Revue Magazine in France. I was also recently commissioned by Absolut Vodka to produce a series of photographs for an artist project called Absolut Cut.
In 2006 I traveled around the world, traveling through Thailand, China, India, Singapore, Europe and the United States. I lived and worked in London for several months, working on several photography projects. I returned to Australia in early 2007 to continue on with my biggest passion, wedding photography.
Photography is my life, passion and obsession. I live and breath it every day. I enjoy experimenting with all different types of photography and enjoy breaking the boundaries and so called rules.

Well hello Miss Sam, my name is Andrew and Im currently the art director for Box Magazine, but not for long..yah. I know this is a long shot, but im trying to find studio space in Fremantle and am finding it a bit hard (very hard). Hi Samm,
Love your work ! I found your stand at the dusk bridal fair this last March, and grabbed one of your lovely little photocards. Just georgeous ! I am part of a network of independent travel agents that also had a stand at the bridal fair, we organise honeymoons, overseas weddings and honeymoon bridal registries. I think that our services might be able to complement each other, and am wondering if you have business cards that you can provide me with. I have quite a few honeymoons on the cards, a few of them don’t yet have photographers. I have a florist, a herbalife consultant (gotta get in that dress !) an events planner and a few other services that I make available to my clients, and am keen to add a photographer. Your photography looks terrific! I’d love to know more about what you can offer. For example, do you offer the photos on DVD or do you only do albums? We are living in Melbourne but getting married in Perth on 9th January, 2009…it’s a challenge planning from interstate but I’m loving it!

Hi sammi, just taking another look at your beautiful pics. The kiddies miss their aunti sammi and want to see you soon. It’s Jayda’s birthday in a couple of weeks so hope to catch up with you then. Oh yeah, did micki tell you maxie kicked a goal at auskick a couple of weeks ago. He was very excited. Maxie has since kicked a bucket of goals, even one from the centre.
