So many exciting things have been happening lately, so many exciting projects in the works.. here’s one of the first ones - a new website just for my portrait photography! Yipppppppie! Go take a look at http://www.sammblakeportraiture.com.au
In celebration of my new website… I am offering portrait sessions between now and the 5th December to be 50% off the session fee price! Portrait session fee’s are normally $150.00, so make the most of the opportunity (and knock out a few xmas pressies in the process) for $75.00. Gift Certificates can also be purchased during this time for sessions after the 1st January 2008. The portrait session can be for any type of portraiture including newborns, maternity, toddlers, children - young or old, familes, couples and even doggies and other cherished family pets! Some of the other exciting things in the works are:
- a new office space with room for a projector! Yipppie doo dahhh! All clients will be able to see their photos projected HUGEEE - definitely a great way to see your photographs for the first time! Not to confuse any clients who have already been to my studio..my ‘new’ studio will be still be in the same building.. I am just moving out into where the art gallery use to be =) I get to deck the place out completely from scratch.. so so very exciting!! So many choices.. and so hard to decide on what colour couch to get, white leather couch or red???
- a new website for my fine art photography
- a shopping cart website that will make life ordering prints incredibly easy!
Maxie’s 4th Birthday Party!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of spending the day with Maxie celebrating his fourth birthday! A bouncy castle was setup in the backyard and there were heaps of kids running around hyped on sugar! Mick and I bought Max a Docker’s football jumper which you can see him wearing in a few photos.. Max is an absolute footy nut! He has over 15 different footy jumpers but he does not seem to have much loyalty to one team though!! (His dad or his grandpa might think otherwise though! ;) His birthday cake was of a St Kilda jumper, and his is wearing a Eagles jumper and the Docker jumper throughout the day… I think he changed into another jumper before I left!!

Last week was a busy week indeed, 3 engagement shoots and the big TAFE job photographing the final year fashion students! I am a little behind on my emails so if you are expecting a reply it will be coming through soon, I have just been so busy editing all of these portrait shoots!
Well last Thursday Danni and Matt came up from Mandurah with their two kids for their engagement shoot. They are getting married in October down in Mandurah. I am really looking forward to photographing their wedding as they are both so friendly (and so is their daughter!!). Since they have children, I told Danni and Matt to bring them along for the shoot, so it ended up being more of a family portrait session than just an engagement shoot! We meet up at my studio in Fremantle and wandered around the old streets in the west end for location spots. The weather was beautiful for the shoot: overcast and cloudy - my favourite! (Overcast days are always better for shooting, as harsh sunlight is not very flattering! On your wedding day you will probably be praying for sunshine and I will be praying for clouds and it be overcast!! =)
Well I got some great shots of them all but here are three of my favorites:
First up, Danni and Matt - I cant remember what they were laughing about but I love the expressions on their face!
Family portrait - I love how no one is looking at the camera or in the same direction. My favorite type of family portrait.

Everything always happens in 3’s… After returning from overseas earlier in the year, I found out 3 of my friends were pregnant!! This is the last one to arrive, and Jayda had a very quick enterance into the world in the early hours of the 5th July. Her proud parents are my boyfriend’s sister, Chris and her partner Gavin, this is their third child, the other two, Max and Ebbonie, appear on a regulary over my website as they are the cutest little kids in the entire world.. and now I have another one to be my models!! ;) These were taking on her mamas birthday last week.

Today I photographed the awesome Purdy family up at Stirk Park in Kalamunda. The family was such fun to photograph, i had a blast and my job was made easy because those kids loved the camera! However the kids were willing to do anything I asked because they knew I had those lollie pops waiting to give them at the end!! The weather was awesome today, the sun was out and the sky was blue all afternoon!! My cousin Dionne works with Niari and showed her the photographs I took at my sisters wedding - thanks Dionne for the referral!! =)

Here is another photo of little Ollie. I took this at Jess’s wedding, it was his first time out and about since leaving the hospital. He is just the cutest baby. Im sure there are going to be many photos to come of this little guy!

Today I bought myself a present, the Canon 30D. The above photo is one of the first photographs I took on it, its of my beautiful little niece who is the cutest little thing. I was sitting outside photographing her brother, when she wanted in on the action and tried coming through the doggie door.
I have also ordered the 24-70mm 2.8L lens which takes the most beautiful photographs. I photographing a wedding next weekend which I am so excited I will have this lens in time for, I cant wait to use it!
