4 . September . 08

On the weekend I had the pleasure of photographing three beautiful kids. I love this collection of photographs :)

Last weekend I headed down to Denmark to photograph Claire and Peter for their engagement session. They got engaged in Denmark so the place holds a special place in their hearts. We first headed down to William Bay but it was pouring with rain so we headed back to the chalet and started the photos there. Peter proposed to Claire at these chalets so it was great to be able to incorporate this into the photos :)

We then headed back down to William Bay and the rain had cleared up, though it was nice a windy - my favorite for a portrait shoot. I honestly love taking photos when its really windy.

My absolute favorite for the day! There is something with wind in hair I find so lovely.

After finishing up at William Bay and Claire losing her shoe in the Southern Ocean we headed into town to do some by the old bridge.

Thanks Claire and Peter for getting me to come down, it was lots of fun and I had a great weekend :)

Last few days I have been posting some of travel photos from my adventures in 2006.
This one was taken on a very cold winters morning in December 2006.

the fire twirler

25 . June . 08

A few years back, Absolut Vodka approached me to be part of an artist project they were working on. They commissioned me to take 3 photographs taken at 3 different times of the day depicting life in Perth. The shot above was taken late at night in my friends backyard doing some crazy fire twirling (and fire breathing!!). These images then went on exhibition in Sydney and Melbourne. I will post the other two images soon! xox

Back from Albany

Eiffel Tower - Paris

9 . June . 08

Third day of blogging! Thought I would post a travel picture that I have never posted! This photo was taken looking down from the Eiffel Tower in Paris while I was there in December 2006. This is the one and only photo I have while up the Eiffel Tower, my batteries in my Mamiya 6 died after this shot was taken, and my spare batteries were all the way back in London! My medium format camera takes a rare type of battery, so I didnt even bother trying to find any at the stores in Paris. Of all the places for my batteries to die! I am glad that this is the only shot I have though, I like how the people are arching around in the queue. Why would you bother waiting in line to catch the lift up? This was about 9am on a very very very cold winters morning, we took the stairs to try to get some warmth!

baby time!

8 . June . 08

About a fortnight ago I had the pleasure of photographing the beautiful little Amelia, only 15 days old. She was an absolute treat to photograph, only getting a wee cranky towards the end of the shoot. So many beautiful photos captured of this little family, I cant wait to have them all edited and to show Kristy and Evan =)

Wide awake…. and after a bit of effort, finally fast asleep!

The whole family!

Sleeping next to dad..

Some little toes!

Ive set myself a bet… im going to try to blog everyday for an entire week! two days down!

happy easter

24 . March . 08

happy easter everyone!

I hope everyone has had a fantastic break! I shot two fabulous weddings on Saturday and Sunday and today I had the pleasure of having a day off so Micki and I jumped in the car and went on a road trip up to York. I never seem to get around to taking images for myself anymore, so today I bought my camera along and had a bit more of a play around with my 45mm tilt shift lens.

India

karnimatta1.jpg

This was taken in 2006 on my world travels. I spent a month traveling throughout India and this photo was taken at Karnimata in Deshnok, Rajasthan. Karnimata is a hindu temple that worships rats (as you can see all the little rats feeding in the background, and some dead ones too) - it was one of the most fascinating places I visited in all my travels and was a real eye opener. This boy came up to me in the temple and stared at me for ages. I think he was fascinated with my cameras. I had my mamiya 6 medium format film camera with me and my digital SLR - he could not understand how he could see himself in the back of one camera and not the other. He was a sweet kid, I have lots of photos of him =)

Kristy + Lucy + Ellie

21 . November . 07

Yesterday I had the great pleasure in hanging out with Kristy and her two little friends Lucy and Ellie. I have been looking forward to this portrait session since Kristy booked me a few weeks ago. We met up at Kristy’s house first so we could take some photos of Lucy and Ellie on my white seemless background:

First up… Lucy! I love her big beautiful ears!

Kristy had seen the fashion shoot I did with Renee at the Pines at Kings Park and decided she wanted to do the portrait session of her dog Lucy there, so we headed off to Kings Park after finishing up on the white seemless:

This shot makes my heart melt. Dogs are so beautiful..

Kristy had a special request… her birthday was the following day (today!!), she wanted me to take a photograph of her to celebrate her birthday! She had seen the photograph I had taken of Renee and asked if we could do something similar… of course I agreed!!! =)

more hot stuff. renee blake

6 . November . 07

This is the rest of the series I have been working on for my sisters fashion range. Pine forests are definitely the flavor of the month! I had so much fun shooting this with Renee, I love when I get completely creative control and just get to do anything I want - for the first shot I had Renee laying on the ground in the pine forest which she protested to at first, but as soon as she saw the first few shots I took she was amazed and than did anything I asked for the rest of the shoot! The light in the pine forest is so beautiful, and so many different ways to embrace this light. Renee and the rest of her class over at West Australian Institute of Fashion and Textiles is having their catwalk show on the 20th November - and they have hired me to photograph the catwalk show and the rest of the evening - I cant wait for the show, it is going to be a great night! I have also designed a newspaper/magazine for them to hand out on the night, it was all finished up yesterday and today is at the printers, so as soon as I get a copy I will post it up here, it looks pretty cool! =)
